APMP CERTIFICATION FOR PRINCE2 PRACTITIONERS COURSE
For: Although PRINCE2 has long been established as the de facto standard for project management in the UK and Western Europe, it is recognised that there are other project management principles and detailed tools and techniques that are not covered in sufficient detail in PRINCE2.
This fast-track approach has been specifically designed for all currently registered PRINCE2 Practitioners who now require knowledge of other project management tools and techniques that are necessary to acquire the complete project management skill set.

SUMMARY
This course will deal with the “gap” between PRINCE2 and the APMP Body of Knowledge and prepare candidates for the APMP examination. It is recognised that a combination of both PRINCE2 and APMP will provide individuals with a complete knowledge and skill set for potential and practising project managers. The APMP qualification focuses on what makes a real difference to successfully managing projects including leadership, communication skills, strategic planning, and project management techniques, whilst recognising the prior learning that a PRINCE2 Practitioner has attained.

AFTER ATTENDING THE COURSE DELEGATES WILL BE ABLE TO:
- Define and scope a project and understand the context for projects in the Portfolio, Programme and Project environments.
- Explain the principles of project management
- Describe project management methods.
- Describe project management tools and techniques used to manage the project that are not covered in PRINCE2.
- Understand and explain the necessary people skills appropriate for effective project management
- Achieve the required level of understanding needed to prepare you for the APMP examination
PREREQUISITES
Delegates must be a currently registered PRINCE2 Practitioner (passed the PRINCE2 Practitioner exam or re-registration exam within the last five years). Ideally delegates should have had at least two years project management experience. Please note that pre-read documentation will be sent to you before the course and it is essential that these are reviewed prior to attending the event – it will require approximately 15-20 hours study. This programme also requires some structured self-study during the course to cover the material contained within the examination.
THE EXAMINATION
The examination is a 2 hour shortened version of the APMP qualification (normally 3 hours) with fewer questions because topics covered by PRINCE2 will not be tested. Please note, that you will need to provide proof of your PRINCE2 Practitioner status such as your certificate or candidate number, in order to sit the examination.
